Join us for Black2School Night! We are hosting a virtual trivia game and raffle. This fundraiser event will be on Monday, August 26 at 7pm ET/4pm PT. Our Year of Purpose kick-off is a chance to start off the school year by being in company with each other, getting to know who is in our community, and deepening our relationships with those close to us.

Ways you can support our mission. 

• Gather your friends to play trivia. $20 a person with a team of up to four. 
  
• Purchase $1 raffle tickets for a chance to win books, swag, or a virtual storytelling workshop. 
  
• Gift a prize for the raffle or game. 
  
• Give in more ways than one!
  

Diversity

• Bring in something that represents you for show and share.
• Share data about the demographics in your community.
• Do a book club with books about adoption. Resource​

Globalism

• Create a school or district map for countries of origin.
• Share data about all the languages across the community.
• Make a bingo card for every cuisine and go to restaurant that serves traditional food. 

Collective Value

• Read a book about braille, get a disAbility guide, or a bilingual book about self love.

The annual Black Lives Matter at School Week of Action is upon us! Our theme this year, Collective Value, is so timely and powerful. We need acts of participation on all levels from all who envision collective liberation.

At our final group planning check in, we will hear from supporters in our network and learn about their planned actions during the week. We will discover activities we can plan with enough time leading up to the first day of the week - “last-minute” ideas. And we will journal about what collective liberation can mean or look like. Expect music! Expect crowd participation! (like doing the wave in the chat)

We realize ideas may be at various stages of the planning process. There are many ways to participate in the Week of Action. You can use the student creative challenge as a lesson, show a film, or host a sip n' paint.  You can organize a postcard campaign, book drive, or double dutch party. This is an invitation to all who have pledged their participation in Black Lives Matter at School and the Week of Action and Year of Purpose. We want to hear from schools, teachers, students, parents, unions, and community supporters and organizations. It was a year of growth, both internally and in our relationships with others. We were humbled to begin providing programming for students and our focus remains on deepening our engagement and connection with network members and young people.
